On a number of occasions, I’ve noticed a file named Sentinel in the iTunes base directory. I did a Google search around a year ago and didn’t find anything explaining what it was and, after noticing it again recently, searched again to no avail. I decided to figure out what the file was by seeing what actions updated it (I noticed the last modified date was yesterday.) In this guide, I explain what the file is for those that are curious.

GRemote – Control Your Computer Using Your Phone
I have a friend who is all MAC. Everything in his house is MAC-Something. Phone, sound system, stereo, tv, the works. What’s neat about his setup is the ability to control everything via his iPhone. Whenever he wants to put on some music, watch some TV, play a game, he taps his iPhone app, choose the playlist and Presto … no matter where in the house he is . Being a bit envy – and not being able to afford an entire MAC-based setup – I checked to see if I could find something usable for my Windows Mobile or my Android Mobile. And guess what? I Did… for both!

You can choose to add GlassOwnership to the Windows context menu (with an additional shift option key), and for those who wish to keep an uncluttered context menu, a considerate ‘Send To’ option.

To get each of the images, however, you need to go through a bunch of steps. First you gotta locate a screen that tells you what’s available — a “thumbnail” screen usually:
