The post compared two great streaming solutions Grooveshark and Spotify (Read it one more time here). Today (July 14th, 2011) Spotify announced the release of Spotify US. You might remember that Spotify offers a totally free service (with some limitations) for everyone who loves music. All you need to endure is a few seconds of advertising at random intervals. 17 Hide accounts from welcome screen [How To]This is a neat little trick for those spy wannabes, or those of you who are paranoid wanting a secret user account on your system. Okay it may not be a totally secret account, as the user folder will be visible after login anyways… Jokes aside, if you have a public available computer, you may want to make sure users log on, using the proper account(s). undelete 220x220 Restore deleted files using Previous Version [How To]We have all done it, from time to time; accidentally deleted a file we thought we didn’t need, or a file that ended up as collateral damage in a file deleting frenzy. The good news when you delete a file is that it is not actually lost forever, it’s just marked as “over-write-able”. And even if Windows should happen to overwrite your file it may be recovered.

There are literally hundreds of programs out there, promising to UNdelete or recover your lost files, some of which actually work. Usually its the ones you have to buy that gets it right. There is however a free option if you are using Windows 7 (and Vista).

Outlook: “Stuck in the outbox” problem

outlookLogoMac 220x220 Outlook: Stuck in the outbox problemA common problem for many Outlook users is that new emails seem to be stuck in the outbox. To get the emails sent,  you then have to press Send/Receive (F9) button. Most users (me included) prefer to have the emails delivered as soon as we press Send, not collect them and send all later on.

Here are some things to try if your sent mail is getting stuck in the outbox (depending on our Outlook version, these may vary):

vista patch bandaid sp1 220x220 SOLVED: Virtual wi fi applications dont work after restartSome readers that tried to set up their computer as a Wireless Hotspot reported that the service fails when rebooting the computer. Some reported to get an error saying something like “The hosted network could not be started”.

This error may also occur in applications using Microsoft’s Virtual Wi-Fi technology on a Windows 7 machine.
