What does your Windows Desktop Look Like ??

They say that your desktop (the real thing, not your virtual one) shows what goes on in your head. The pun is an empty desktop surface vs. your mind.
I admit, this post is inspired by a similar article over at Verge. That being said, I think it would be interesting to see what your Windows Desktop look like. Do you like your desktop to be neat and tidy, or is it all havoc ? Show us your mind.

The other day I got a call from a user who had somehow managed to make all his desktop shortcuts open in Word. I suspected he had used the “open With” option in the context menu; thus, telling Windows to “Always use this program to open these files”. The problem was clear. Even though each shortcut had the correct settings, Windows would still open them in Word. The problem is, you can’t just tell Windows to open the shortcut files in an other program than Word. You have to somehow Reset the shortcut behavior to factory settings.
So how did we fix it ?

As promised last week I would publish the results of our little poll on Windows 8. Thank you for participating. From what I can see, our readers are early adopters. 52% Have installed Windows 8, and 39% use it as their only OS. Only 13% reported to have deleted the OS all together.
