PROS: Search function to find your favorite app. Works on most thumb drives. Effortless, though slow, installation. Convenience on the go. CONS: While necessary, installation can take over an hour. Difficult to customize which programs you want to see on the list. VERDICT: LiberKey is a great program that can be used as a toolkit on the go. If you help friends with their computer’s, this will take you a long way. Just like any Thumb drive program bundle, you get a lot of what you don’t need and are sometimes left without your favorite programs, which you’ll have to install separately. Burn a Windows 7 Repair Disc

To burn your own Windows repair disc:

1. Click Start, type create and click Create a System Repair Disc 

2. Insert a CD/DVD, choose the DVD drive in which the disc resides and click Create Disc

Once the disc is finished, I recommend booting from the disc to test it—before you really need it.

If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, you can now use Windows Forums on it. In this guide, you’ll learn how to set your iPhone up to browse the forums.

There was some previous interest for Windows Forums on the iPhone and to be honest, I was hoping something like this would come along because I didn’t want to customize the forums myself only to find a professional solution was in the works. I have no idea how long this app has been out, but after a search for “phpbb” (the software on which Windows Forums runs) on the Apple App Store, this was the only solution I could find.

When traveling or working remotely, you can never be too sure about the integrity of your network or the other people who might be using it. When picking an online backup system for your Windows laptop, make sure you pick one that offers the right encryption options for your needs.

If you’re worried about securing the confidential data stored on your laptop, you want to make sure that your data is properly encrypted during transmission using a strong protocol such as SSL, and that the data stays encrypted when stored on the providers remote server using a password that’s only known by you. (And not the online backup provider)
