So you have your brand new Windows 7 PC and you’re ready to rock. Did you know that if you create separate user accounts, your whole family and friends can have access to their own personalized desktop, files, and opened programs?

Create a New User Account in Windows 7

To create a new user account:

1. Click the Start button and click Control Panel.

2. Under User Accounts and Family Safety, click Add or remove user accounts.

3. Click Create new account.

4. Give the new user account a Name. Then choose whether they should be a Standard user (recommended) or an Administrator. Click Create Account.

5. Now the user’s account is ready to use. Just log out of the account you are in and log in to their account to create their own personal desktop.
