The Windows App Store is a welcomed edition to Windows 8 and, although in its infancy, is already hosting some great apps. If you’re using Windows 8 and would like to try an app, follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard or tablet

2. Type store and click Store in the search results

3. Mouse or touch the top or bottom right corner to bring up the Charm Bar (alt: Windows key + C)

4. Click the search icon

5. Type your search query i.e. remote and press the magnifying glass to search

6. Click the app you want to install in the search results below

7. When you’ve found an app you want to try, click Install

8. After you’re notified installation is complete, press the Windows key and type the name of the app you installed. Click the app name in the search results to test it out
