Windows Guides always strives to keep your PC in top shape and looking great. One of the easiest ways to customize your computer to keep it looking great is by picking a good wallpaper. In this guide, I’ll show you the best places, in my opinion, to find high-quality desktop wallpaper.

The Best Places to Find High-Quality Wallpaper

These sites are given in no particular order; they’re all good websites and I invite you to check them out:

social wallpapering

Social wallpapering’s concept is simple: users submit and rate wallpapers; the best wallpapers, by user rating, reach the front page and get more exposure. This means the best wallpapers on the site are available as soon as you reach the homepage. You can also download collections of some of the wallpapers via the torrent links on the site’s menu.

Hongikat.com Wallpapers

Hongikat (much like this site, Smashing Magazine, and Abduzeedo) is not a dedicated wallpaper site; the site just links to some of the best, hand picked, wallpapers available online. The site doesn’t have a ton of wallpaper collections, but the site definitely focuses on quality and shares the wealth with you, the reader.

Hongikat.com Wallpapers

wallpapergarage.com

If you like cars, lots of cars, and high-resolution depictions of cars, wallpapergarage.com is your number one stop for wallpapers. I love these wallpapers, which are always high quality and cover almost any supercar, racing car, rally car etc. that you can think of.

wallpapergarage.com

WallpaperHD.net

WallpaperHD has a ton of great wallpapers in all resolutions including high resolutions. This site has a pretty clean interface and helps you find the wallpaper you need easily.

WallpaperHD.net

randomwalls

randomwalls is a good wallpaper site that’s provided me with great wallpapers for my collection. The wallpapers seem a little more generic and less unique on this site, but it’s still a great place to find wallpaper.

randomwalls

WallPaperStop

Just like random walls, the wallpaper isn’t as unique on this site, but it’s still a great hub for desktop wallpaper searching.

WallPaperStop

Pixelgirl Presents

If you like unique, abstract wallpapers, check out Pixelgirl Presents. This site is full of unique and inspiring wallpapers.

Pixelgirl Presents

Wallpapers-room

I’m a big fan of Wallpapers-room; the wallpapers are unique, high definition, and are available in all shapes and sizes. This is one of my favorite wallpaper sites out there due to its simplicity and quanity of content.

Wallpapers-room

Abduzeedo Wallpapers

Just like ths site, Hongikat, and Smashing Magazine, Abduzeedo pulls together some of the best wallpapers online. What makes Abduzeedo unique is that it also shares “home-grown” wallpapers created by the site’s author, which are well worth looking in to. I’ve used their wallpapers on a number of ocassions and even link to them in the collections hosted on this site.

Abduzeedo Wallpapers

Smashing Magazine Wallpapers

Also like this site, Hongikat, and Abduzeedo, Smashing magazine puts together collections of the best wallpapers online and shares them with its readers. What’s unique about this site is it also has users create and share monthly calendar wallpapers (with and without the calendar overlay), which can add function to your desktop wallpaper if that’s your thing.

Smashing Magazine Wallpapers

deviantART Wallpapers

deviantART is, without doubt, hosts some of the most creative digital art in the world. The wallpaper section of this site holds no exception to that claim and, amongst the hundreds of not-so-good wallpapers provides some of the most uniqute, exclusive, and high resolution wallpapers available online.

deviantART Wallpapers

InteraceLIFT

InterfaceLIFT hosts a huge database of wallpapers in all shapes and sizes. The wallpapers are generally more nature oriented and consist mainly of photographs than digital art. So if you’re into photo wallpapers, this may be your one and only stop on your journey to find them.

Please note that some of the pics are not suitable for children, but, still, I couldn’t find any explicit pictures so it should be safe for 16+
