Create a Windows Vista Recovery Disc [How To]

Please note: You cannot use the disc to install Windows Vista from scratch or reinstall Windows. The recovery disc creation tool is only available with Windows Vista SP1 or later.

Burn a Windows Vista Recovery Disc

To burn your own Windows repair disc:

1. Click Start, type create and click Create a Recovery Disc

Note: The system repair disc utility is located in %systemroot%\system32\recdisc.exe

2. If prompted, click Continue on the User Account Control dialog:

3. Insert a CD/DVD, choose the DVD drive in which the disc resides and click Create Disc

Once the disc is finished, I recommend booting from the disc to test it—before you really need it.

if you have a second license, you can get a torrent of Vista (make sure you read the comments before downloading.) If you don’t have an extra license for your second computer, then I can’t help, sorry.

I attempted to dual boot xp with vista preinstalled. Needless to say, I was not successful. I am getting a black screen with a blinking cursor. I have been trying to trouble shoot for two days and I cant figure out whats wrong. I downloaded the Vista Recovery disc and the Startup Repair could not detect a problem. Please Please help!

I have being trying to find a vista repair disc? most of the discs are downloadable from torrent sites, I have been told that these sites are not safe? Could you help please RICH. Regards

Hi,
Everyone seems to link to this neosmart site. I have downloaded utorrent and got it working to find out that it kind of works at neosmart, it is flaky. I would like to see a site that did a straight download, so that people like myself don’t have to play jerk around to get the ISOs.
