By default, Windows Vista has a 400 ms delay when opening menus; you can shorten this time to 200 ms without degrading performance. Learn how in this guide.

Load Vista Menus Faster

To shorten the time it takes for the menu to appear, do the following:

    1. Start Registry Editor (Start > Run > “regedit”)
    2. In the left panel, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop
    3. Double click on MenuShowDelay
    4. Change the value from 400 to 200

      For this to take effect, you may need to restart your system.

      You will now have faster loading menus.

          @Mohsen – If you’ve used a tweaking program like Advanced SystemCare, CCleaner etc then this program probably already changed the setting.
