Many Windows Vista users are experiencing problems with slow file transfers. In this guide we will learn a quick tip to improve transfer times.
There are two ways we can fix this problem: by disabling Remote Differential Compression and by applying a patch from Microsoft.
Disabling Remote Differential Compression
Click the Start button and open the Control Panel.
Click on Programs.

Now click Turn Windows features on or off.

Now uncheck Remote Differential Compression.

After doing this, you will need to restart your computer. I recommend you then test to see if there is a noticeable difference.
If the problem persists, you can install a patch from Microsoft.
Install a Patch from Microsoft.
The patch can be downloaded here from the Microsoft site.
These are the two solutions available; if neither of these work, but you find another way to fix it, please leave a comment so other users can benefit from your wisdom.
