Automatically Change Wallpaper and Other Settings before Presentation

If you give a lot of presentations, there are probably certain things you do before you share your screen with the room. You may change the wallpaper, turn down the volume, de-activate the screensaver etc. In this guide, you’ll learn how to automate this process with the Mobility Center in Vista.

Using Vista Mobility Center to Prepare Your Computer for a Presentation

To open the mobility center presentation settings, do the following:

Click Start > Control Panel > Mobile PC > Adjust settings before giving a presentation

Configuring Presentation Settings

You may have custom Mobility Center software on your laptop. Usually, your laptop vendor puts this software on, so you may need to do some exploring yourself. In this example, I’ll show you the default Mobility Center Presentation Settings.

Within the Presentation Settings dialogue box, you may configure the following:

  • Toggle Screensaver on/off
  • Wallpaper
  • Volume

Now you have control over these settings when you are connected to an external display. If the settings do not automatically activate, follow the next step.

Manually Turning on Presentation Mode

If you are not using an external display, or presentation mode does not start, you can turn on Presentation Mode manually by doing the following:

Click Start > type “mobility” > Hit Enter

Select Turn on next to Presentation Settings

You are now ready to present.
