Ever wonder how much you use your mouse when you’re using your computer? I think you’d be surprised to see just how much you use it. In this, guide I’ll show you how to get a small app called “MousePath” and how to get it to track your movements.
Download Java & mousepath.jar
If you don’t have it already, you’ll need to download Java. The easiest way to tell if you have Java is to download the app and see if it works; if it doesn’t work, you need Java.
- Download mousepath.jar (via Anatoly Zenkov)
- Double click on mousepath.jar and, if it doesn’t start the mouse tracking app:
- Download Java.
Now let the app run for as long as you’d like (note: this app doesn’t work for multiple monitors and will only track activity on your main monitor.)
When you’ve got an image ready (like the one below), click the app and press S to save an image (it will save a .tif file in the directory in which mousepath.jar resides.) You should then probably convert the image to a .PNG or .JPG file using a program like Paint or Paint.NET.
