What’s CS Live?
CS Live deliver a new line of Online Features, that can speed up the creative process of your work. With features such as “Review”, where you can let other people share their comments on your work, before you release it, or deliver it as a finished product to your client.

What is Mini Bridge?
Remember Bridge? The image viewing application from Adobe?
Adobe has now included a Mini version of this inside Photoshop. This is a neat little feature which makes you able to browse your images inside Photoshop without having to open Bridge.

Content Aware Fill
Content Aware Fill is one of the best features i’ve ever seen in Photoshop. It makes you able to remove parts from pictures i.e some trash on the ground or as in the example below a logo and text. What it does, is pretty much what the healing brush do. Except this only takes 2 clicks. This is so simple to do, and works nearly every time. And if it doesn’t, you just keep selecting the images that looks wrong, select Content Aware Fill and hit enter, until you get the result you want. Below i have made an example image where i have removed a logo and some text from a wallpaper. I have also made a video, which shows how you do it.

Puppet Wrap
Puppet wrap allows you to change the form and shape of a figure in Photoshop. It really is hard to explain so i’m going let the video below speak for itself

Puppet Wrap (Done in a pre release of CS5, the feature hasnt changed between pre release, and the final version)

Content Aware Scale
Content Aware Scale makes you able to Scale your image, without having to cut in them. This is a nice feature if you need to make a Profile Pic (high, but not wide) and you want it to look proper. Just as in the example image below

Brushes
Photoshop CS5 includes a line of new brushes. You can see some of these brushes in the picture below

GUI (Graphic User Interface)
The GUI of Adobe Photoshop CS5 hasnt changed much since CS4. All though, we do see some new caption buttons in the top right corner. These buttons matches Windows 7 perfectly. Well done Adobe. We also see the same grey interface as in previous versions. This is a good thing, because the grey is easy on your eyes.

Conclusion
The conclusion is, that Photoshop currently is the best Photo editing software on the market. There is no doubt at all. With features such as Puppet wrap and Content Aware Fill, it kills all other competitors. This is simply the best. While some may say it’s way too expensive, it is definitely worth all the money in the end.

  • It'll be a while before i get stuck into this as the upgrade price is just a tad high for me at present... that coupled with the fact i've only just got my head around CS4!!
Adobe has really pulled some amazing tricks out of the bag with Photoshop CS5 and the "White Rabbit" code name is very apt, i'm really looking forward to using it and it's amazing new features.
    Great article SG, thanks :)

Summed it up better than I could have Sergio. Adobe is definitely doing some awesome things. After Content Aware, I wonder what CS6 will bring us...
