Suggestions Help us improve Windows Guides and Win a prize! We here on mintywhite, spend a lot of time writing about what interest us, and hopefully we succeed writing something that interests you as well. The other day I started thinking about how I, as a writer, could improve and how this could become an even better site – for you. With that in mind, HOW may we improve?

  • What kind of topics would you like to see more of?
  • What kind of topics would you like to see less of?
  • Is there some special software we should review?
  • How about our competitions? More? Less?
  • Tell us what you think.

The Suggestion Box

I’ve asked Rich to add a new Sticky Topic in our Forum, called: The Suggestion Box. This is the place for you to add your comments, ideas, suggestions about our site; be assured that every suggestion will be taken seriously, and none of them will end up in the  shredder.

Win a prize!

To launch this new feature, we have 5 more Windows licenses of WinXdvd Ripper (Read about it here) and about 10 more MAC licenses for you our Readers. So, the next five Fridays, we will pick the best suggestion out of the box and reward it with a license of your choice.

If only you could type the Windows-Key + L combination to Unlock as well (Microsoft; if you’re reading this, it’s a free tip for you).

Lock Only your Keyboard and/or Mouse

I have come across a small freeware that let you not only lock your keyboard and Mouse, but also lets you decide HOW locked down they should be, while keeping the rest of your computer Un-Locked.

tray RB Tray Minimizes Your Programs to the System TraySometimes I would like to minimize a running application to the Tray instead of the common Taskbar position. A quick search on the net gave me a few solutions to choose from. The one I ended up with is a small freeware utility that is totally invisible and has both 32-bit and 64-bit support.

It’s a small script that add Right-Click Functionality to the minimize button, while keeping the Normal Setting using the Left-Click.

11 thumb Use Check Boxes & Single Click in Windows Explorer [Quick Tip]If you’re not too keen on using the keyboard when selecting items in Windows Explorer, using check boxes should make your life much easier.

Using check boxes also complements using a single click to open items. Just pointing at items to select them can be frustrating and using check boxes relieves a lot of this frustration and makes things a little more precise.

We’ll cover both of these areas with this Quick-MintyTip as the method is the same.
