 Post subject: Unable to install Nvidea driver updates in vista and win7

hy guys i dont know if any one can help me i cannot install any nvidea downloads i keep getting this error ("The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.") its the same in both vista ultimate and win 7 ultimate in a dual boot configeration amd phenom quad core 9500 3 Gb ram 8500Gt graphics with a nforce hybrid SLI motherboard, has any one had the same problem or do you know the resolution please help i dont want to reinstall both os's again

I generally get this error if i've downloaded a file from a 'less reputable' site.
Is the file downloaded from NVIDIA?

Also something to try is disabling driver signing enforcement, to do that press F8 when your dual boot screen comes up after a reboot, and choose the relevant option.

try downloading a new ndivia driver make sure that it finished its download.

cheers guys the drivers are from nvidea web site, ive redownloaded them again on another pc installed them on that pc. only to get them home and to be told that there corrupted again so i'll disable driver whql check at boot up and i'll let you know.

Have you tried installing the driver in compatibility mode and/or as administrator?

yup. try wat rsvr85 said. make sure your the admin and try it again. if that doesn't work, try scanning your disk for errors and fix them. if that doesn't work, nvidia has a corrupted file than. you can't do anything than sorry.

AND one more question for the smart people... "indexing" - can i delete the 24,000 index?? i tend to delete thinking less is better....and then end up with more problems. thanks you
