komalo over at deviantart has shared a tool that will give you an Aero look to your command prompt.
This tool doesn’t require any installation. Just double click it to run it.
Once you have downloaded it, simply extract it and put the folder somewhere permanent.
The settings.ini file is purely for toggling the system tray icon on or off. Open it with Notepad and set “HideTrayIcon=” to 1 to turn it off.
Next up is to create a shortcut of the executable. Click and drag holding Alt to create your shortcut, cut it to the clipboard.
Open an Explorer window and in the address bar; shell:startup. Paste the shortcut here.
Now, Glass CMD will start every time your PC does and the notification icon will not show.
There is a XP version to this though I couldn’t get it to work so unfortunately it doesn’t get recommended here.
This version however, does work with Vista & Windows 7, x86 & x64.
To ‘uninstall’ just delete Glass CMD.exe, the shortcut, and the settings.ini file.
