Hibernate or Sleep upon Startup [How To]

snooze Hibernate or Sleep upon Startup [How To]Usually people use the  Hibernate or the Sleep Function when leaving the computer, to save time when returning to it. Mostly, I think, it’s because people feel the computer takes forever to get “work ready”. It may save you some precious time on the day-to-day basis, but there are occasions where a full Re-Boot is necessary.  Especially if you have applied an update or installed a Windows Service Dependent program. – What Then ??

One solution is to reboot when you go to get some coffee (or some other legal “drug”), or when you leave for the day. If you are on a password protected system, this really doesn’t help you any – you still have to wait for that last boot up services to start after typing in your credentials. If this is your case – do I got the perfect solution for you:

Introducing: Boot Snooze

logmein01 LogMeIn Free Lets You Remotely Access Your Computer PROS: The free version gives you access to your PC with no restrictions that would make it difficult to use your PC remotely.

CONS: The only con is the pro features are not free but I have no objections to their pricing structure.

VERDICT: If you want to work on your PCs remotely, this tool will do everything you need. You don’t need to set any complicated firewall rules, set up any kind of DNS to access your PC, or worry about anything complicated. LogMeIn just works.

PRICE: Free (For LogMeIn Free)

angry birds screenshot 500x300 Angry Birds for WindowsWhether or not you like playing games on your cellphone, you may have noticed people so hung up on a certain game that they hardly recognize anything around them. Which game is it? It’s called “Angry Birds”. The game first appeared on iPhone and has since then moved on to other platforms. Having a Windows Mobile, I know It will never reach my phone, as the developers have claimed NEVER to transfer the game to that platform. But in a small way (or should I say big) they have yielded – the game is now available for Windows PC. And it works on all window platforms.

If you wonder about the HALF star up there, the game’s only flaw is that it’s so addictive…

PRICE: $4,99

Posted by Thomas On January - 20 - 20112 COMMENTS

Internet Explorer 8 Turn Off Suggested Sites in MSIE 8 [How To]One of the first things to do on a machine running IE 8 is turn off the Suggested Sites feature.
This feature looks at the sites you visit and then attempts to guess what other sites you might like and suggest them to you.
Awe, the thought is nice, but … no thanks.

Here’s how to turn it off
