SDExplorer: Get Windows Live Skydrive on your desktop

These days there are so much talk about Cloudware (a.k.a software that you access through internet). And Microsoft doesn’t want to be left behind like they were back in the 1990’ies when they thought Internet were only going to be a hype.

One of the latest additions to Microsoft’s “Cloud Solution” is “Windows Live SkyDrive”, an online Storage Solution.

If you’re already using it, you already know that Windows Live SkyDrive is somewhat clunky and not very user-friendly. The web interface “add files” section only allows you to add one file at a time in individual fields. The existing ActiveX Controls that would allow you to Drag’n’Drop – only works in Internet Explorer.

Trillian Astra 4.2 Beta

Trillian Astra 4.2 Beta, is the next phase in Cerulean Studio’s progress towards a better Instant Messaging client.

Cerulean Studio’s is also (for a limited time only) offering their Premium subscription for $10 (original price $25). This subscription will last you the entire 4.x builds. When 5.x comes along it will only cost you $10 to upgrade or you can stick with Trillian 4.x.

Google Chrome – Software channel breakdown

Chrome is a browser made by Google. Googles idea was this, make a browser that simple, easy to use, and allows us to do what we all want to do. Browse the web! This idea became a reality on September 2nd, 2008.

No one has really explained the Google Chrome Software Channels, at least not to the point of where normal users can understand it. That is what this article is for!

PROS: A simple to use application dashboard with 82 freeware and open source applications for you to download. Click to go directly to the website or click to download… simple!
It’s frequently updated too, giving you the latest versions to your favourite software.

CONS: Missing some big names from the list and errr……

VERDICT: A great application for people setting up a new install, equally as great for finding new applications.
Categories include; Archivers, Audio, Video, Chat – IM, Internet, CD Burners, P2P – File Sharing, Games, Graphics, Office, Security and Utility.

PRICE: Free.

VERSION REVIEWED: 1.3.0.0

(Please note that at time of writing the version reviewed was 1.3.  Version 1.4 has now been released bringing many more applications to choose from.)
